Salmon flies on Upper Madison are scattered from above Palisades down through McAtee Bridge and are heavier in certain areas. Caddis and PMD hatches are happening and are also heavy during rain squalls. Patient and persistent dry fly fishing will pay off for larger trout, and the standard wet fly patterns are always reliable. The Madison is running 1960cfs at Varney and release at Hebgen is 996cfs. Clarity is good.

Have had good success with this pattern during heavy caddis hatch…#16 Yellow Stimmy. Hard to find this fly in size sixteen.
