Never seen anything like it. Ever. So many years of fish-guiding. Never seen it like this. For Andy and Terry, it started out a chilly 38 degrees and ended up red hot. We were on the water at 8:30 and when we quit at 4:30 we had sixty-five fish in the net. All rainbows. All nice ones. Eight double-headers!. We found a trough where they were stacked up like cord wood. I maneuvered the drift boat using on-shore markers, a jack-leg fence and a rock pile, to stay on the fish for eight hours (not counting lunch break and pit stop). We used only one fly pattern…an olive leech tied by the guys that worked even after the maribou tails got chewed off. We never went more than five or ten minutes without a bite. And these were fighters! Cool water temps from 56 degrees in the AM to 62 degrees in the afternoon had the fish in sporty mode…pulling hard, burning line and launching airborne. We ended the day with cold beer and ribs from Deemo’s. Life is pretty dang good!

Hope you got a big tip!

What are “double headers”?
Hi Shirley. A double header is when two anglers have a fish on at the same time. Thanks!…RB
