The long-time, heavily used boat launch along the West side of Ennis Lake, Clute’s Landing, has received a much-needed facelift. A new concrete ramp with a more gradual slope has been installed, along with a separate launch and recover area for kayaks, canoes, paddle boards. And the downhill road to the launch site has been filled and graded. Shuttle drivers rejoice!

Kudos to BLM, Northwestern Energy along with the Missouri-Madison River Fund Grant Program for coming together and making this project happen. Thank you all!

This boat ramp receives heavy usage during the summer, especially on weekends. The ramp is a “single” meaning room for only one boat at a time to launch and recover. Adding a separate launch area for kayaks, rafts, etc. serves to alleviate the clogging and crowding and speeds up the process, allowing for multiple watercraft to launch and recover simultaneously.

BLM is also expanding the dock at Kobayashi Beach, adding room for multiple watercraft to tie up at the same time, keeping the ramp open for incoming traffic.
